Silkie Bantams
**********************************************
It is believed silkies originated in Asia and were domisticated very early. Marco Polo in 1298 described seeing "hens with hair like cats" in China.
There feathers are fluffy and are not stiff like a normal chicken. They do not fly. They have 5 toes, black skin and the earlobes are turquoise. They have a sweet temperament.
Rarely are they aggressive. They are great bug eaters.
I raise a variety of colors: white, black, grey splash and self blue(lavender). I am working on developing some nice show quality silkies.
